Tonight I finally got the suitcase and carry-on bag put away; they are only going to get pulled out tomorrow night to be repacked for a trip to Mom's. The house is still in chaos, but it's getting a little bit better.
The best parts of the weekend:
- hearing Thea and her cousin laughing talk,ing and playing together, preferring that their mothers butt out and let them play;
- getting to see a friend from high school and just hanging out like we saw each other last week instead of in 2003 (and having the GPS get me to her house with no snafus);
- having a better understanding of just how smart my cousin's twelve year old son is; if Thea's music teacher once called her 'scary smart' this kid is 'keep you awake at night smart";
- the wedding on Sunday in East Texas, which the GPS also got me to, despite being told that service could be a little iffy.
What can I say? The wedding was a blast. One of the top three that I've ever been to. It's nice to have a day when all the crying is for happy, happy reasons. I've got to get the pictures put on a CD so I can post them.
And now the bag is packed again for two days in Maryland, and after school today, off we go.
