Today was nice and hot, and despite the swampy conditions of our backyard, all three pools were set up and filled.
After playing inside for a bit, then having lunch, four out of five of the kids went out to play in the water (Lucas's little brother was drydocked with a little bit of cellulitis on his left foot.) They all had fun until the water got a little bit too cool for them.
So we did the birthdy cake thing - except that Lucas doesn't like to have anyone sing "Happy Birthday to You" to him, which was fine with everyone except Micah. He loves to sing, and he'll sing Happy Birthday to You even if it's not your birthday.
Lucas stayed on after his mother took his siblings home for naps. Micah took a nap, Thea and Lucas played with her knights and castle and hung out upstairs. Then after Micah was up Steve took the kids to the playground at Riverside Elementary School before dinner.
Then we took Lucas back to home and got a chance to see the sofas that his mother had offered us. They're huge, but we have one long wall in our living room that should be able to accomodate them, so we're going to figure out away to get them from Plainsboro to our house some time this week.
